This site is internationally recognized within the scientific community due to the extraordinary preservation of its dinosaur tracks. Among the most impressive findings is a continuous trackway left by a giant sauropod, stretching for more than 30 meters. Throughout the visit, observe footprints from different species and of various sizes, creating a fascinating journey back to the Jurassic world. In some cases, clearly identify the claw marks of the dinosaurs, an incredibly rare detail that plays an important role in understanding the animals that once inhabited the region of Portugal millions of years ago.
Starting with a visit to the interpretation center, where an introductory film helps bring the site to life and makes the experience even more immersive. Continue to a second remote and equally fascinating location, famous for its numerous theropod footprints, the carnivorous three-toed dinosaurs. Here, identify different track sizes and species, offering a deeper understanding of these prehistoric predators and their behavior.
After exploring these incredible prehistoric sites, continue towards the Portuguese coast, one of the richest regions in the country for dinosaur remains and discoveries. For the final part of the experience, choose between two different options:
Visit a paleontology museum featuring fossils and reconstructions of some of the dinosaur species discovered in the footprint sites visited during the tour.
