Praia da Rainha (Beach)

Located in the heart of Cascais, Praia da Rainha isa smalland picturesque beach surrounded by golden cliffs and colourful buildings. Due to its small size, the beach fills up quickly during the summer months, so arriving early is recommended if you plan to spend time here.

Originally known as Praia do Curral, the beach was renamed Praia da Rainha afterQueen Amélia chose itas her favourite bathing spot in thelate 19th century, when the Portuguese royal family made Cascais their summer residence.

Today, it remains one of Cascais' most photographed beaches, combining royal history with the charm of one of Portugal's most elegant seaside towns.
