História:

Built in 1900 as the summer residence of Irish aristocrat Jorge O'Neill, the mansion was later purchased by Count Manuel de Castro Guimarães, whose extensive art collection formed the basis of the museum. Following his death, the property was donated to the municipality of Cascais and opened as a museum in 1931.


Today, itpreserves one of the most important cultural collections in the region, offering visitors a glimpse into the lifestyle of the Portuguese aristocracy during the late 19th and early20th centuries.
